TROCADERO ORCHESTRA PROFILE

Peter Stevenson
Trombone

2014 Dec 26

On the evening of December 25th, 2014, our dear friend Peter Stevenson died in the comfort of his new home that he loved so much, surrounded by his family. He fought the brave battle and we are very proud of him, but were relieved to have his suffering come to an end. We will miss him terribly but are so glad he was in our lives for those many years.

We have lost one of Edmonton's FINEST trombone players, if not Canada's. Pete always had such a smooth sweet tone as witness his superb rendition of Tommy Dorsey's "Getting Sentimental Over You " which he played as smoothly as Tommy. Such a huge loss for the big band community of this city. Peter will be sorely missed by all who knew or had the privilege of performing with him. On top of everything, he was a real gentleman who took a sincere interest in every member of the band and always had a kind word for and with anyone with whom he spoke.

Our sincerest love and sympathy to Peter's wife, (Pat) and family at this sad Christmas time.

Great trombonist never die, they just slide away.
